I totally belong to Christ
By: Nancy Escalante
Women must be strong or loving, or can she be both?
She covers up with strength and dignity and she does not worry about the future.
“Finally, brothers, fill your minds with everything that is true, everything that is noble, everything that is good and pure, everything that we love and honor, and everything that can be thought virtuous or worthy of praise.” (Ph. 4,8)
Women has dignity as well as her Christian vocation which is to enrich human life through her sensitivity, understanding her capacity of welcoming and promoting good things. That is why women have to be firm in their identity and the mission Christ has entrusted her.
In this sense women require a solid internal structure in order to transcend and face the daily battle of life through virtues such as prudence, patience, but above all, strength because it is fundamental to live a true devotion, to face adversity and in this way live faith and fidelity.
In this regard it is appropriate to say that femininity and strength are not contrary to one another. Strength is a moral virtue that helps to be firm and constant through the difficulties and reaffirm resistance to temptations and the will to overcome obstacles in life. The virtue of strength enables women to overcome fears, facing life tests with faith. This is the reason why every woman that lives in Christ and belongs totally to Christ is able to transcend sadness feelings and feel sure that she may overcome everything if she has faith.
Therefore we can say that a strong woman lives everything with love, kneels humbly to pray to receive strength from God which in turn fills her with grace and serenity. She shows she is brave in spite of fear or difficult circumstances, accepts her mistakes and is willing to achieve a change, learning from such mistakes and gets up every time she falls down.
In this sense a strong woman is a testimony of love and virtue, becoming a strong support for her husband and children, a light in the way of the family towards perfection.
Due to the above mentioned, we can say that a strong woman needs faith and a true LOVE and DEVOTION to Christ.
