Masculinity

“Be awake to all the dangers; stay firm in the faith; be brave and be strong. Let everything you do be done in love.” (1 Co. 16,13-14)
“The Masculine way of being contributes to human mature with some qualities that are necessary for every individual, but are more evident in men: long term projects skills, certain tendency to rationalization, accuracy, control over things, predisposition towards technique, etc.; and there are some other qualities, although also inherent to men, are learned because of the feminine contribution. It is easier for women to meet people, delicacy and kindness to treat others, generosity, the capacity to be concrete, talent and sharpness for inventiveness, intuition and tenacity among others.”
Talking about fatherhood we can say that it is the job of being father and it can only be carried out by men. He is a little more distant regarding concrete life. He is also outside the pregnancy and birth process, and he can only be part of it through women.
It is precisely that distance that enables him to act in a calmer way in order to protect life, and ensure the future. It can help him to be a real father, not only at a physical level, but also in the spiritual sense. It can help him to be an imperturbable, sure and reliable friend.
But it can also contribute, on the other hand, to a certain lack of interest for concrete and daily things, which unfortunately has been favored in the past by an unilateral education.
