There is a direct relation between the Sacrament of Matrimony and Eucharist since the sacramental relation of the Communion links both of them.
Marriage is a communion that involves permanence and vitality, due to the close relation with Eucharist and the real sense of man-woman relation, which represents the alliance between God and His Church. When God declared Himself as husband of His Church, in the New Covenant, reveals the importance of the nuptial alliance, which must be based on mutual love, linked to the Holy Spirit giving rise to the obtaining of a new heart, that is to say, the transformation of a stone heart into a flesh heart.
Jesus in His loving devotion to His people, which is celebrated by the Eucharist, by the sign He made in the Wedding at Canaa, where Christ makes the Church His own body and nourishes and protects it at the same time, just like the husband to the wife and vice versa. In this same sense Saint Thomas refers to Marriage-Eucharist as total communion sacraments since they imply donation of body and spirit giving rise to a true vital fusion in the individual because both of them imply the intimate communion with Christ. For this reason both sacraments are permanent as well as the presence of Christ and His saving action.
Marriage alliance, being a communion and leading to a mutual donation gives rise to a consecration, to a faithfulness path and perpetual love to the ecclesial body, creating the domestic Church, which involves a saving mission, of preaching and announcement of the good news.
According to the above mentioned we can realize that the family is a life and love community, which is renewed constantly by faith and sacraments, for this reason family must live according to the values, giving as a result, unity, faithfulness and fertility.
Marriage is a sacrament that provides grace for both spouses, where we can find the reciprocity principle, which in turn is the basis of Eucharist since it implies a mutual donation and acceptance for a real communion.
Another important aspect is that the Marriage-Eucharist relation also implies a communion with the Holy Trinity since the action and presence of the spirit motivates to that love and the communion, which generates an interior fullness.
