Praying is one of the most relevant and necessary matters for humanity, as vital as eating or breathing; that is to say, it is essential for mankind to be connected with God.
St. Augustine used to say: “You made us for You and we are yours, that is why our heart is restlessly looking until it finds its place and rest in You”.
Prayer arises from God’s calling to mankind to spend time with Him. God loves each of us in an unconditional and total way, and this love involves spending quality and quantity time with Him. He does not want “some”, He wants it “ALL”.
The most beautiful thing a man/woman can live is feeling God’s love in his/her life and answering Him back with love, there is nothing better than that.
The relationship mankind has to take care more about is his/her relationship with God, no matter what is his/her state of life. It is probably thought that such a relationship is only for priests and nuns, but it is not that way, His first commandment was to love Him and this includes us all. As well as sanctity vocation is for everybody. That is why it is necessary to pray, since prayer is the dialogue by means of which we are connected with the one who really loves us. If you do not believe, read this:
“With age-old love I have loved you; so I have kept my mercy toward you” (Jeremiah 31, 3).
“Can a mother forget her infant, be without tenderness for the child of her womb? Even should she forget, I will never forget you. See, upon the palms of my hands I have written your name; your walls are ever before me” (Isaiah 49, 15-16).
“Though the mountains leave their place and the hills be shaken, My love shall never leave you nor my covenant of peace be shaken, says the LORD, who has mercy on you” (Isaiah 54, 10).
And nothing can apart us from this love...
“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor present things, nor future things, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8, 38-39).
Don’t you think that so much love deserves a little response from you? Think how many times have you felt the need to love and feel loved, how many times have you wished to find true love, well, God offers you that every day, you only need to risk a little and spend time alone with Him.
