What happens if I already had sexual relations? If you have had sexual relations in the past, you can look for God’s love and with his help you can start living chastity today. We can think that chastity is a pure physical issue but it also involves our mind, emotions and our motivations, it is only a question of deciding to live something called “second virginity”.
Second virginity means. TO DECIDE FROM NOW ON, NOT TO HAVE SEXUAL RELATIONS UNTIL YOU GET MARRIED.
Some benefits of saving sex for marriage are:
• You will have more time to get to know your partner.
• It will help you to find someone, who values you for what you are.
• It will increase the respect for yourself and for the others.
• It will help you to have a clear conscience, without conflicts or repentances.
• It will help you to practice fidelity, control of oneself and purity.
It is certainly more difficult to live a second virginity than a fist one, because sex itself is very pleasant, but it is also true that sex does not make you happy by itself. Think about this, a person does not die because he/she does not have sex, but he/she can die without affection or love.
Learn how to love, look for the virtue of charity as a precious jewel. Look for God, He is Love, (1 John 4, 8) let yourself be loved by Him, follow His commandments and then you will be able to live all the good things that love and sex together can offer.
