• Chastity is celebrated during a week every year in the United States, in order to promote this value among young people, encouraging them to wait until they get married. And not only in this country, not long ago, hundreds of young people got together in Seoul, South Korea to promote and practice chastity.
• In Mexico 44% of the young people have not had sexual relations. This means that, although it seems difficult, they are willing to live it. So living in chastity is not easy but it is not impossible.
• 8,000 students of publish schools in Chicago, held a demonstration in favor of abstinence.
• As a preparation for the World Day of the Youth “Cologne 2005”, young people have promised to live in chastity, rediscovering its value.
• Erika Harlod, Miss America 2003, declared in The Washington Times, that she was censored by the organizers of the contest, because she was forbidden to talk in favor of sexual abstinence among adolescents. Harlod, which is a law student of the well known Harvard University, said that she will resist Miss America officers’ efforts to silence her opinions in favor of chastity.
• United States “ICR Survey Research Group” made a survey some years ago for “USA Weekend” seminar of Ganet group. There it can be seen that 65.8% of the adolescents between 12 and 14 years old believe that abstinence message is good. For those between 15 and 17 years old, the proportion increases; 78.6% is against having sexual relations before marriage.
• Bush invests 30 million dollars to promote chastity. United States Government has announced the allotment of almost 30 million dollars to organize meetings aimed at promoting sexual abstinence until marriage between North American adolescents.
